As night falls over London, the city’s spooky side awakens—and it’s dying for company. Join a ghost-savvy guide and a gang of brave(ish) travellers for a frightfully fun wander through London’s spookiest spots, where the shadows have stories and the vibes are as bad as the ones in your ex’s flat.

We’ll slink through eerie alleys and cursed courtyards, telling tales of moaning monks, headless dukes, and prisoners who’ve overstayed their welcome. You’ll visit places so haunted, even the ghosts have trust issues. See the infamous Smithfield Market–home of spectral screams, St. Bartholomew’s–where the patients aren’t quite discharged, and the infamous Cock Lane (yes, it’s as weird as it sounds).

From phantom footsteps on Millennium Bridge to the irate inmates at Clink Prison—aka the only place with worse reviews than Ryanair—you’ll hear chilling legends and ghost stories, and experience just enough to make you keep the lights on tonight.

Will we encounter a ghost? Maybe. But one thing’s for sure, this isn’t your nan’s walking tour—it’s a night of ghastly ghosts, eerie energy, and haunted history. Book now, if you dare… and maybe bring an extra pair of underwear (you never know what could happen when you catch a fright!)

Tour Highlights

  • Group 48099405

Come for the ghosts, stay for the buboes

Wondering what’s beneath your feet? A good old-fashioned plague pit—because why wouldn’t you be standing on a mass grave in London? This spooky spot is bursting with the paranormal from Black Death victims who never quite moved on, to ghostly monks and a headless Duke who’s still trying to get ahead (haha see what we did there?). Once you hear the twisted tales behind this haunted corner, those ghost sightings will feel a little too believable… so maybe keep your back to the wall, yeah?

  • Group 48099403

Get roped in by gallow ghouls

This isn’t just your average meat market—it’s London’s original house of horrors. Smithfield has seen more drama than Love Island, with centuries of blood, guts, and ghostly goings-on baked right into the cobblestones. It’s said the spirit of William Wallace still paces the square and the phantom screams of Protestant martyrs still ring through the night air like a haunted mixtape. Step lightly… and maybe don’t wear sandals.

  • Group 48099400

Terminally entertaining tales of Black Death

St. Bartholomew’s Hospital might patch you up by day, but come nightfall, it’s less “Grey’s Anatomy” and more “Grave’s Anatomy”. Once a haven for plague victims, its ancient halls are now home to ghostly doctors doing the graveyard shift, moaning patients who’ve definitely overstayed their appointments, and one extra-creepy kid who’s less “aww” and more “uh-oh.” Spot him, and well… let’s just say he’s not handing out lollies.

  • Group 48099397

Ghosts that are itching to haunt

Back in 1762, Cock Lane (yes, that’s its real name) raised goosebumps with the infamous “Scratching Fanny” haunting—brushed off by skeptics as a hoax. But here’s the spooky bit: visitors still report phantom scratches and whispery voices drifting through the air. So, was it all smoke and mirrors… or is Fanny still itching to be heard?

  • Group 48099361 2

Who let the dogs out? You wish you didn’t ask

The Central Criminal Court might look polished today, but it’s built on some pretty grim foundations—Newgate Prison, where misery, mayhem, and a whole lot of execution went down. Rumour has it, the prison never really disappeared. Enter the Black Dog, a ghostly growler said to be the spirit of a wrongly accused soul, still pacing the grounds with a bone to pick. So keep your eyes peeled… and that conscience squeaky clean.

  • Group 48099404

Enter if you dare… and don’t crypt your pants.

St. Bride’s Church might look all prim and proper on the outside, but underneath? It’s hiding a seriously spooky secret. Its crypts—packed with bones from Roman times to the 19th century—have a much darker story to tell than the peaceful pews above. So many creepy finds were dug up, they sealed it all off. Maybe to keep the skeletons in the closet... or whatever else is lurking down there.

  • Tipsy Tour Icon

It’s all fun and games until something whistles back

St. Paul’s Cathedral might be a stunning work of art, but after dark? It’s more “whistle while you work” and less “peaceful prayers.” The Whistling Clergyman still serenades from the All Souls’ Chapel, even though he’s, you know, long gone. Security staff have heard phantom organ music, creepy children’s cries, and even seen doors creak open all on their own. Looks like the spirits of St. Paul’s aren’t ready to clock out just yet.

  • Madrid Walking Tour

It’s not just your nerves starting to sway

The Millennium Bridge, aka “The Wobbly Bridge,” does more than just sway—it’s got a bit of a haunted streak. Since it opened, people have reported ghostly figures in the mist, phantom splashes from below, and that unsettling feeling that someone’s watching you. Some reckon it’s the restless spirits of those who met an unfortunate end in the River Thames, still trying to make their way across... talk about a bridge you don’t want to cross!

  • Tipsy Tapas Tour of Madrid

To boo, or not to boo—that is the question

Beware the Ides of Fright— at the Globe Theatre, things can get a little dramatic. Cast and crew have reported a shadowy figure in Elizabethan garb silently watching rehearsals, eerie footsteps echoing in empty halls, and ghostly applause lingering long after the show’s over. These spooky happenings are said to be linked to the Globe’s turbulent past, filled with fire, tragedy, and, of course, plenty of drama. At this theatre, it’s not just the actors that want an encore... the ghosts do too.

  • Tipsy Tour Dessert Neon Icon

    Raise spirits... and a pint

This centuries-old pub isn’t just serving up cold pints—it’s dishing out some chilling encounters too. Rumour has it, it’s haunted by the restless spirit of a murdered smuggler, a mysterious woman in black, and a few regulars who never quite finished their last drink. We guess ghouls just wanna have rum?

frequently asked questions

How many people will be on the tour?

We like to keep things fun and personal, so we cap the groups at 20 people. Whether it's a small crew or a bigger crowd, you're in for a night to remember!

Will the tour be cancelled if it rains?

Let's be honest, if we cancelled every time it rained in London, we’d never get to run a tour! The tour goes ahead rain or shine—the Brits don’t let a little rain stop them, and neither will we! Plus, we’ll be indoors for most of it anyway, so we’ll do our best to keep dry.

Can solo travellers join the tour?

Absolutely! It’s perfect for solo travellers. London’s a big city, and it can be tough to meet fellow travellers, but this tour makes it easy. Whether you’re flying solo or with a group, you’ll have a blast meeting new people and making friends!

What is included in the price?

The tour features a guided evening walk through London’s most haunted spots, led by a local guide who will share chilling stories of ghosts, legends, murders, and mysteries. Expect dark history, creepy tales, and plenty of goosebumps along the way!

Can children join the tour?

Yes, but a heads-up: this tour covers themes like death, hauntings, and violent history, which may be intense for younger kids. Parents know best. If you feel your children can handle it, they’re welcome to join the adventure.

How long does the tour last?

The tour runs for approximately 2 hours, long enough to explore London’s eerie side, but not so long that the ghosts get restless.

Does the tour still run in the rain?

Rain just adds to the atmosphere! The tour runs rain or shine, and a bit of gloomy weather makes the experience even spookier. Just bring a raincoat or umbrella… and maybe some extra courage.

Do we visit places that are really haunted?

Yes! We stop at locations linked to London’s scariest legends, where ghost sightings and unexplained events have been reported. While we can’t promise you’ll meet a ghost… some guests have definitely felt a chill.

Can we take photos during the tour?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to snap photos, though keep in mind that it’s a night tour, so lighting can be tricky. And if you happen to capture anything unusual on camera… let us know!

Will we enter any buildings?

No, the tour is entirely outdoors. But don’t worry: many of the buildings and landmarks look even more haunting by moonlight, so the chills are guaranteed.

Is the tour in English?

Yes! The tour is led in English by a knowledgeable local guide who knows all the dark legends and ghost stories that London has to offer.

Is it possible to book a private ghost tour?

Definitely! You can book a private tour just for your group, ideal for birthdays, team events, or paranormal fans looking for a more personalised spooky experience.

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, London’s historic streets mean the route may not be fully accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. If you have specific needs, let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you where possible.

Will we have headphones on the tour?

Headphones aren’t provided on our walking tours, except for the Colosseum Arena and standard Colosseum tours. If you have hearing difficulties, please let the guide know in advance so they can stay close while speaking. Your personal hearing device can also be used by the guide throughout the tour.

Is luggage storage available during the tour?

Because the tour is mostly on foot, we don’t offer luggage storage. For convenient and affordable options, we suggest using a third-party service like Bounce.com.
